Jnana katha - 2

This is second story as told by Sri Ibrahim Sutar during 106th Birth Day celebration Satsang held in Mystic Society hall Nrupatunga Road Bangalore on 22nd June 2014. If you want to read first story please click here. Intention of story is to explain why a spiritual aspirant or any person must not learn vedic text or spiritual practice without a help of Guru. We with our limited knowledge might think , we have good command over language and can easily understand the content. However your thinking will change once u read ( understand) this story ........

In a village there was a small hospital which use to get good number of patients. Once due to an emergency, Doctor has to go to some other village , so before going he thought villagers might come to see him, so better  i put a board and go. So he wrote a board saying "AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" (in hindi) and left for other village.

. One patient came for his regular check-up , surprised to find doctor was not there , and he read the board
"AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN"  , which means in Hindi "today medicines , no food" , and interpreted meaning that Doctor has advised to take only medicines today no food to be taken  and went back.

Second patient came for his regular check-up ,   surprised to find doctor was not there , and he read the board "AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" which means i n Hindi "Today taking medicines is not allowed" , and interpreted meaning that Doctor has advised not to take medicines today and went back.

Third patient came for his regular check-up ,   surprised to find doctor was not there , and he read the board "AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" which means i n Hindi "Today taking medicines and food is not allowed" , and interpreted meaning that Doctor has advised not to take medicines and food today and went back.

Here if we see ( though its a joke) , letters have not changed , nor language has changed , all three patients read same text , in same language , but interpretation was totally different from what Doctor intended to say.

Moral:-
Similar thing will happen when we read shastra , veda's , Upanishads ,Quran or Bible  , we have knowledge of language , we might as well understand meaning of words  , we have knowledge of interpretation , however our intellect is not that elevated to interpret the same meaning what our Rishi's wanted us to understand.
So we need to sit at lotus feet of able guru and learn them.

Jnana katha - 1

Yesterday  ie 22nd June 2014 , i was fortunate to attend satsang held on account of 106th Birthday celebration of Sri Samarth Sadguru Ganpat rao Maharaj Kannur (click here to know more) in Mystic society hall on Nrupatunga road.
One of speaker in that gathering was Sri Ibrahim Sutar.
Muslim by caste and carries tremendous Vedic knowledge. If i get more information about him i will publish it soon. While in his discourse he said two small stories which caught my attention and   are real best example for understanding complex formula of Mind and senses. One of story goes  like this...

In a small town,  a black smith was carrying bunch of Axe heads to sell.
While he was walking on road , trees on both sides started discussing ,

Tree - 1 :- Alas today is end of our life , look at that man he is carrying Axe with him.
Tree -2 :- Yes , he is coming towards us , and i am sure he is going to chop us down.,

By this time most of trees got scared and started crying.

There was a old tree  , which saw plight of all these younger
trees and asked a question ,

Senior Tree to all other trees :-
Do you all see any of our family member associated with Axe ?

All younger trees with one voice said .. Nooooooooo !!!
We just see metal Axe.

Senior tree:- Then no need to worry.

Until one amongst our family member ( wood) is not associated with Axe we are safe.

Moral :-
Mind if gets associates itself with senses , it invites trouble in life. If Mind keeps itself apart from senses it has no fear.
