Jnana katha - 2
In a village there was a small hospital which use to get good number of patients. Once due to an emergency, Doctor has to go to some other village , so before going he thought villagers might come to see him, so better i put a board and go. So he wrote a board saying "AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" (in hindi) and left for other village.
. One patient came for his regular check-up , surprised to find doctor was not there , and he read the board
"AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" , which means in Hindi "today medicines , no food" , and interpreted meaning that Doctor has advised to take only medicines today no food to be taken and went back.
Second patient came for his regular check-up , surprised to find doctor was not there , and he read the board "AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" which means i n Hindi "Today taking medicines is not allowed" , and interpreted meaning that Doctor has advised not to take medicines today and went back.
Third patient came for his regular check-up , surprised to find doctor was not there , and he read the board "AAJ DAWA KHANA BAND HEIN" which means i n Hindi "Today taking medicines and food is not allowed" , and interpreted meaning that Doctor has advised not to take medicines and food today and went back.
Here if we see ( though its a joke) , letters have not changed , nor language has changed , all three patients read same text , in same language , but interpretation was totally different from what Doctor intended to say.
Moral:-
Similar thing will happen when we read shastra , veda's , Upanishads ,Quran or Bible , we have knowledge of language , we might as well understand meaning of words , we have knowledge of interpretation , however our intellect is not that elevated to interpret the same meaning what our Rishi's wanted us to understand.
So we need to sit at lotus feet of able guru and learn them.

Jnana katha - 1
One of speaker in that gathering was Sri Ibrahim Sutar.
Muslim by caste and carries tremendous Vedic knowledge. If i get more information about him i will publish it soon. While in his discourse he said two small stories which caught my attention and are real best example for understanding complex formula of Mind and senses. One of story goes like this...
In a small town, a black smith was carrying bunch of Axe heads to sell.
While he was walking on road , trees on both sides started discussing ,
Tree - 1 :- Alas today is end of our life , look at that man he is carrying Axe with him.
Tree -2 :- Yes , he is coming towards us , and i am sure he is going to chop us down.,
By this time most of trees got scared and started crying.
There was a old tree , which saw plight of all these younger
trees and asked a question ,
Senior Tree to all other trees :-
Do you all see any of our family member associated with Axe ?
All younger trees with one voice said .. Nooooooooo !!!
We just see metal Axe.
Senior tree:- Then no need to worry.
Until one amongst our family member ( wood) is not associated with Axe we are safe.
Moral :-
Mind if gets associates itself with senses , it invites trouble in life. If Mind keeps itself apart from senses it has no fear.

Surrendering to Lord
Many a time this sentence or topic comes in spiritual discussion. Very often we hear some senior devotee or saints telling this "Surrender to god" or "Surrender at his lotus feet".
Even the very meaning of word Islam is "Surrender to Will of God".
No then it cant be our life. Its his life , just we are experiencing it.
First thought came to mind ,We should surrender our body to god. Here body means muscle power or our activities. Then immediately second thought came saying - this whole body is given by God then how can i surrender back him ? What ever service activities we do, it may be fasting, or community service its all because of his given strength , time and money. Then it cant be our body to be surrendered.
When i went deeper, I thought we should surrender our mind , but again i was not fully satisfied with this thought. Surrendering mind means what?
Mind is just one of senses like eye , ear ..etc given by god. At best i can make my mind to be withdrawn in-ward and make it always contemplate on God's glory. Or i can keep my mind busy with chanting his name. But is this surrender? Spirituality lies far behind our senses and so mind.
Mind is just limited to worldly objects, so i can max control mind not to wander in this physical world.
With all limited knowledge i had , came to conclusion i dont have anything of my own which i can surrender to lord. All worldy objects we enjoy , our body ,our senses, our comforts ,our time , our energy ..etc every thing what we claim is ours is not really ours.
So what can i surrender to him?

Drona - The perfect master
We all might have heard story of Ekalavya in Mahabharata. Just to brief , ekalavya was leader of Nishada trible group. Who was staying nearby Dronacharyas ashram where in princes of hastinapur use to learn archery. From the childhood Ekalavya wanted to learn archery from Drona, but because of his lower caste he knew Drona will not accept him as his disciple. So he made out idol of drona and started practicing archery. With his efforts and faith in guru he became one of the best archer.

Rudraarpitam
Rudraarpitam meaning offering to lord rudra (shiva). This project is taken by youths of bangalore as an offering to Bhagawan on his 85th birth day. This project is brain child of my friend Sai Krishna.
As part of this project 85 home's are selected and all rudra chanters will go to each home and chant rudra for 11 times. This chanting of rudra by 11 ( minumum) chanters for 11 times is called Ekadasha rudra. Then once chanting is done vibrating shiva bhajans are sung.
I was enough fortunate to host rundraarpitam at my home on 17th Jan.
Some 40 people gathered including chanters , friends and relatives.
After chanting is done , one person will give a small talk , its a standard message which will be read in all sessions of rudraarpitam. Here is a part of message that was read by me on that day,
“RUDRAARPITHAM” as you are aware is essentially performed for both Chitta Suddhi and Loka Kalyana.
Let us dedicate today’s Ekadasa Rudram chanting at the lotus feet of our
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and Pray for LOKA KSHEMA.
Here are some messages extracted from various discourses of Bhagawan on chanting of the Rudram.
· Rudram is the Heart of the Krishna Yajur Veda and is in the Center of Taitriya Samhitha.
· Sri Shiva Panchakshari Mantram”Om Namah Shivaya” is enshrined in it.
· Sri. Rudram is also known as ‘Rudropanishad’ though it forms a part of the Karma kanda, it ranks with the Upanishads of Gnana Kanda.
· Rudram contains both Namakkam and Chamakkam.
· Namakkam has 74 stanzas and Chamakkam contains 21 stanzas.
Ancient Sages had prescribed 5 spiritual texts for constant Repetition and Meditation They are:
1. Upanishad of one’s own Shaka
2. Bhagawad Gita
3. Vishnu Sahasranama
4. Rudram &
5. Purushasuktham
Rudram contains Prayers to the Almighty for both Material and Spiritual Treasures. Rudra is one who destroys Sorrow and Sin.
The Mantras in the Rudram guide us how to pray and what to Pray
After bhajans were done , prasadam was served to all. And the whole night i spent in full bliss.
JAI SAI RAM
The following benefits will accrue to the one who chants Rudram with Sincerity:
· Health & Stamina-Strength of the Body
· Mental & Intellectual Prowess ( Tejas & Ojas )

We Shall be students for ever
"Guruji, i am doing lot of practice in spirituality, but i am not seeing any benefits, i am not witnessing any changes, why" ?.
My mind was expecting something like guruji will bless me now and say from now onwards you will see changes!!! or at least he from his divine power will see how much sadhana i have done and will give me some progress report and ask's to improve still.I was waiting for his reply eagerly.Nothing happened as i was expecting, after all he is a Guru, he knows how to make a beautiful ring out of gold.
He said, its good that you are not seeing any such signs.I was shocked. He continued...
you should always keep telling we are not able to do sadhana as per his ( God's) expectations, still we should improve. Then he told me a short story of a egoistic yogi challenging ramakrishna paramahamsa to walk on water.Yogi walked on water ,then ramakrishna said what is need for doing so hard spritual practise just to walk on water, you can pay 10 Paise to cross the river on boat.
Guruji's message was clear , dont do sadhana he has taught for getting some power's.
He said, keep doing sadhana, let the power of sadhana store in your nervous and cells deeply.
We both will keep doing sadhana, we both shall be students for ever...
My ego was totally crushed.I felt ashamed of myself.A great soul who has hundred's of spiritual followers, and thousand's of patients getting cured irrespective of what disease they have, say's we shall be students for ever..
